| Jon's Bio Hello! My name is Jon Hembree, and I’m honored to serve as Community Christian Church’s Senior Minister! I grew up in the St Louis area, and through a crazy, God-led turn of events, I went from being a Music Education major at UM-St. Louis, to a Preaching major at Ozark Christian College in Joplin, Mo. (If you want to know more about that journey just ask!) It was there, during orientation weekend, that I met a beautiful woman who would later go on to be my bride, a year and a half later. Madison (Madi) is a wonderful wife who passionately cares about people, and thankfully, I one of those people! We were married in March 2008. A few short months later, we were expecting our first child, and in February 2009, Charles (aka Charlie) became part of the Hembree clan. Then, seventeen months later, in July 2010, Jack was born! Clark came along in May 2012, and 2 years later, May 2014 Deacon was born! (If you lost count, that makes 4 boys! And before you ask, no, we’re not going for the whole basketball team…) Like every parent, we have our hair-pulling moments, but mostly it’s a lot of fun! Watching our kids makes uswonder what we used to do for entertainment! I left Ozark with a Bechelor’s in Christian Ministry. For the next three and a half years, I served as the Connections Minister at First Chrisitan Church in Warsaw, Indiana. Then God brought us to Great Bend to serve at Community Christian Church in January 2015. Other things you should probably know about me: I like almost any kind of music, but I have a special love of a’ cappella music (mainly barbershop). I will eat just about anything but cooked broccoli (Seriouly. It makes me gag.) And I think the next step to my Diet Dr. Pepper addiction, would be to take it intravenously. (Yes I’m in the deep!) |
